Tips:

  • ALWAYS call the farm or see their website or Facebook page BEFORE YOU GO to confirm their supply, their hours prices and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available.  All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Farms get sold, shut down or run out of trees, and they don't all update me every day, let alone every year. For more tips to make your trip fun and successful, click here!

April: Most Christmas tree farms open on the last Saturday in November; Some open a month earlier to allow you to mark the tree you want while the weather is nicer! Demand for trees will likely be very high this year, and global supply chain issues may reduce supplies of imported trees .Do expect prices to be up about 20%.     PREMIUM NORDMAN FIR (ABIES NORDMANNIANA),
    A very soft tree with relatively large dark green needles with a silvery underside. Nordmann are layered in shape, a needle holding tree. Our premium tree is very full and well layered.
    STANDARD MIX NORDMAN FIR (ABIES NORDMANNIANA) -
    We have only started supplying this grade in the last couple of years but it is already becoming very popular. As the name suggests you get a very nearly premium grade tree. Most popular tree in the UK, the tree that the majority of households will have. A very soft tree, large dark green needles with a silvery underside. Layered in shape, known as the needle holding
    PREMIUM FRASER FIR (ABIES FRASERI)
    The Fraser is a very good needle holder and has smaller and more silvery needles than the Nordmann. Fraser is a very narrow and dense, compact tree that gives off a pleasant citrus scent.
    PREMIUM PRUNED NORWAY SPRUCE (PICEA ABIES)
    Considered the original Christmas tree, sharper, smaller needles, but still popular as it's considered more traditional with a stronger scent. We have a number of grades. Pruned: Thick and bushy

Rushmere Country Park is a fabulous site for walking, cycling, horse riding and watching wildlife. Rushmere Park is a beautiful 210 acre country park at the northern edge of Leighton Buzzard with lakes, ancient woodlands, conifer plantations, meadows and heath. Wildlife is abundant and includes Mandarin ducks, woodpeckers, warblers, butterflies, common lizards and herons. In fact the park has its own heronry and holds a heron festival during March, April and May where visitors can listen to talks from bird experts whilst watching resident herons as they construct nests, lay eggs and rear their young. Rushmere Park Leighton Buzzard signpost Rushmere Park has many guided routes for walkers, dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Visitors can move freely between Stockgrove Park and Rushmere Park There is a visitor centre with helpful literature about the park, the visitor centre has a veranda overlooking the lake where visitors can watch the herons.

Perfect way to immerse yourself in nature and feel at peace. its mostly woodland with some open fields and picnic areas. Evens going on all year, great for kids and dogs. Cafe is very nice and food is great. Always a nice selection o cakes and the view over the veranda is simply stunning. Very educational and very community focused. The Norway Spruce is the traditional Christmas tree as introduced to England by Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria, in the early nineteenth century. Today Norway Spruce is still a very popular tree with strong scented needles and a bushy pyramidal shape. Fresh air, friendly and helpful staff and thousands of trees to choose from. We have tried to make our family-run, choose and collect Christmas tree farm a fun way of buying a real Christmas tree!
